5 Themes of Geography

  1. It helps people better understand connections because when you analyze the world with the 5 themes of geography, they help you understand what is going on in that place and how people are doing things. Location helps you find a place that you need to go to or are looking up, when you describe a place using human and physical characteristics that theme is place, movement is the theme that describes how people and goods move from one place to another, human and environment interactions is how people adapt, alter and use their environment to make their living cozy and region is when a place or an area has at least one thing in common. When you use all of these to analyze the world, you make a pretty good description of how people live and what the Earth looks and acts like.
  2. I think the theme of geography that is the most difficult to understand is region. When I first was working with region I was really stumped on what it meant and then over time, I got more familiar with it and then it finally made sense to me. Region is when an area or place has at least one thing in common.

  1. I agree with you about the descriptions of the five themes of geography and how they analyze the world. One thing that I didn’t understand is how the five themes of geography can show you how the Earth acts. How does the Earth act like something? I also agree that the theme region is the hardest theme.

    1. Hi Meredith! Thank you for your feedback! I think it helped really well. What I meant by how the Earth acts is that it does its own thing. Other than that, thanks for the nice comments!!

  3. Hi Mug Mug! Its Emma. I agree with basically everything you said. You have a really good implied understanding with the five themes of geography. I agree with what you said about region to. I also found that the hardest for me. And with map skills, I do have to admit I disagree with Map key being the easiest. I felt it was compass rose, but I mean we all have our differences, right? But I do agree that coordinates is the hardest, and I agree on how it's difficult, but you didn't explain why. I get it was hard because you didn't understand a lot about them at first, But what didn't you get about them? But you did thoroughly explain why map skills are important and I think you really nailed that. All in all you did pretty good! Good Job!
