I think that one of the most easy things in map skills is the map key. I think this is the easiest thing because it tells you what each symbol means and it is easy to read. The map key normally has symbols that are easy to tell what they are and they place the symbols in places that are easy to tell where they are on the map.
I think the hardest thing or the thing I struggle most with is coordinates. I did not know a lot about coordinates before I did this so that was the thing I struggled with most. Now after studying them it makes sense and I now know how to find a place on a map using coordinates and how to read them on a map.
Map skills are very important when reading map and learning about geography. Map keys can tell you about all different things on a map, for example: climate, industries and population. Coordinates can help tell you where a specific place is on a map if you can find the correct coordinates for that place. The name of many different places can help you find something on a map too like oceans, lakes, continents, countries and states. Last cardinal directions can help tell you which way you are going or where something is located like Canada is located on the northern part of North America.
